A Brief History of Ziggy Chen
Extremities from both ends of the spectrum -old and new, East and West, antique and modern- all shape how Ziggy Chen aspires to recreate and evoke a nomadic mood through his garments. His interest in vintage fabrics and (vintage) ideology is reflected in the garments he produces.
Majoring in Fashion Design and giving lectures at a local university while holding a corporate management job, Ziggy Chen had an epiphany to create his own collection as he turned 40 back in 2010. After much encouragement from his closest friends and families, Ziggy Chen started his eponymous label in 2011 with a “hobbyist” mentality up until the designer’s 2013 Spring-Summer collection when he decided to take the label up another notch with a more serious attitude.

Panelled Crewneck Sweater
Adding sophistication to a collection of downtime essentials, Ziggy Chen’s panelled crewneck sweater showcases the Chinese designer’s laid-back approach to preppy aesthetics. The premium cotton construction is styled with all the classic sweater detailing, finished with multiple distressed panels.
Growing up in the 80’s era as a teenager in pre-reformed China, Ziggy re-collects the period when the once-reclusive country began to open up, allowing ‘western influences’ into the country. Flooded with countless pop-culture influences such as sci-fi movies, denim jeans, rock music and the Walkman, Ziggy gives credit to these stimulations and the energy that he received at that memorable time. This helped him form the foundation of his current opinions and beliefs.

Secured with a tonal drawstring adjustment at the waist, this pair is kitted out with a total of four pockets and to the ankle cuffs, elasticated trims round out this Shanghai-made pair.
